- When it comes to choosing a flooring store, what do I need to consider?
- First of all, consider why you need flooring. If it is for a renovation, new building or reconstruction, think about your budget and your desire for style and statement. What you can afford and what’s available for the price can vary, depending on the store.
- Every retailer can promise you great service and price, but they have to be able to prove it. For example, Berry Flooring guarantees that our sales staff do not receive compensation on your purchase until you are completely satisfied before, during and after install. That eliminates the need for pressure sales, and focuses on making sure every step of service is taken care of in a personal and professional.
- You should also investigate the timing of the install to make sure it coincides with your schedule, and the company should ensure that you are receiving a full warranty coverage backed by a labour and installation guarantee. For example, Berry Flooring offers a two-year plan that covers installation issues.
- Make sure that a flooring company also provides in-depth information on how your flooring is installed, what to expect and how to care for your flooring investment over the long haul.
- Do I have to dispose of my existing flooring?
- We are able to remove and dispose of all existing flooring associated with your flooring replacement. Berry Flooring is also concerned about the environment, so we’re working on creating an advanced recycling program for many of the products normally disposed of in landfills. We also carry a series of natural wool and jute products that will add an environmentally friendly benefit to your home, especially if you live with sensitivities and allergies.
- What am I going to do with all my furniture while my floors are being replaced?
- Berry Flooring offers full service beyond installation. We make sure that all your furniture is moved safely and securely out of the way so that installers can create a seamless experience. We do recommend, however, that smaller items be packed away before hand to guarantee a quicker experience.
- Do I have to remove the toilet, pedestal sink, dishwasher, and radiators?
- Yes. This needs to be done by a professional plumber and it is an extra cost on top of your installation. Gas appliances and hard-wired appliances also need to be disconnected by a professional to make sure your family and our staff are safe. If you are not in contact with these services, we would be happy to refer someone to you.
- Do I need to change my underpad?
- Probably. This is the least expensive item to replace with the highest long-term benefit. Berry Flooring offers a large selection of underpads (natural, eco-friendly and standard), so you can determine what level of comfort you wish to experience.
- Do you sell brand name products?
- Berry Flooring has built solid and long-lasting relationships with some of the world’s premiere flooring manufacturers. That means we only bring you the best quality carpeting, flooring, tile, stone and woods. We also believe that customers deserve to know exactly what they are purchasing, so we make sure to have information on hand to explain how products are made and maintained.
- Do you provide a finance plan and what types of payment plans are available?
- We are pleased to offer convenient in-store finance plans on approved credit and we also accept Visa, Master Card, cheque and Debit.
- Will my new floor require maintenance?
- Yes. The manufacturers have recommendations that your flooring representative will give you. We also make sure to include cleaning tips and maintenance ideas to ensure the life of your flooring.
- Does hardwood require any special humidity control?
- Calgary weather is notorious for dry conditions. That’s why maintaining humidity at around 40 to 60 per cent is mandatory for any hardwood flooring and should be closely monitored to maintain your warranty. Berry Flooring provides you with all the details upon installation to guarantee your hardwood keeps its impressive shine and durability.
- Do you have your own installers?
- Berry Flooring is proud to have 18 of the best crews in the business, specially trained, quick and professional. We are also happy to note that many of our installers have served our family company for more than a decade…a true testimony to our values and ethics in treating every employee with dignity and care.
- Do I have to have my house and/or furnace cleaned after installation?
- Although all reasonable attempts are made to minimize any mess, dust and debris are inevitable with any renovation and therefore should be expected. We can make a recommendation for a reputable furnace cleaning company to eliminate any residual backflow of air into your home.
- Can I expect to have to have damage or scuffing to my painted walls and baseboards?
- While our crews endeavor to be careful during every renovation and installation project, some scratching and scuffing are possible. All attempts will be done to minimize this from happening. Minor paint touch-ups are usually required after most flooring replacement projects and is the responsibility of the customer.
